This was a helpful article. My grandmother was Jenny Mendershausen Hirsch of Karlsruhe. She was deported to France in October 1940 and seems to have met the Kleins at some point, probably in Marseille. She was hidden by the Kleins in St. Symphorien de Lay 1943-1944 and took care of the little girls while there. She was deeply shaken by the death of Samy. Our family owes a great debt of gratitude to the Kleins for their service to humanity and France. We met Marguerite Klein briefly in July (?)1958 in Colmar.
